Dance at Centennial is alive and well.

What is it about ballroom dance that makes it popular? Is it the social nature of it? Or the fun two people can have moving around together? How about how the dancing makes each dancer feel? Maybe it’s just a challenge for some that keeps bringing them back? Maybe it’s close to being addictive.  Maybe.

At Centennial, I teach six sections of dance. Social Dance is for those who have never had dance before and just want to experience the fun of dancing beginning ballroom dances.

Dance Basics teaches the same as Social Dance, but adds hip hop to the mix.

Intermediate Dance adds more social dances, as well as bringing more technique into the mix. This year, the students are also competing a latin formation routine.

Advanced Dance shifts primarily toward international dance technique with a few performing routines and a competition routine thrown in.

Performance Team moves quickly and competes in both latin and standard formation competition. This group of 24 students also performs at elementary schools and in the Dancing with the Student Council event!

We’re getting ready for the BYU competition. This week will be very time consuming but very rewarding as well.
