Dear Parents,
I'd like to start by thanking many of you for your donations to PTA which have made it possible to run our program this year. Because of your donations we will NOT have to do a PTA fundraiser. I appreciate the generosity of so many of you.
Thank you! Thank you!!
If you'd still like to make a donation to PTA, it's never too late. You can pay Linda Freeze, the financial secretary, in the main office.
It's time for Reality Town again. On Tuesday, Feb. 23rd, half of our 8th graders (those in CTE Business) will experience what adults do each month with finances. The cafetorium will be set up with booths (clothing, dental, insurance, groceries, etc.) manned by parent volunteers. Students visit each booth, hoping they still have money left in their accounts when they’ve met all their expenses. It takes more than 50 volunteers to run the booths--this is where we need your help. If you can help us from 8:30-11:00 AM on February 23rd, please contact Karen Murray (karenmurray10@comcast.net, 801-374-5471). You do not need to have an eighth grader in the class to volunteer.
Please take a few minutes to vote for a great educator for the PTA Golden Apple Award, if you haven't already done so. Each year the PTA honors a Centennial faculty member who has taken the time to put forth extra effort in his/her job. Mike Barker was our Golden Apple Winner last year, and very deserving of the award. I'd appreciate everyone's vote, including students (one vote per person please), in selecting our Golden Apple recipient. Please email me your vote and a brief description why you chose that person.
If you prefer, you may vote in the main office (box is on the counter). On Feb. 25th the box will be moved to the cafetorium for Parent Teacher Conferences. Voting will end on Feb. 25th. Thanks for your great support this year!
Linda Pattberg, PTA President
